Taste History CulinaryTours of Historic Palm Beach County is a cultural program operated by the
non-profit Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History. Macy's is the presenting sponsor. The tour features food
tasting with trips to art shops, cultural centers and historic buildings. One of the historic buildings visited is the
non-profit Osborne Schoolhouse in Lake Worth.
The Osborne Schoolhouse was built in 1947 in the Lake Osborne Addition
neighborhood in Lake Worth that was settled by Bahamians in 1921. The Bahamians arrived
years earlier for farming and to work building oil magnate Henry Flagler’s
Florida East Coast Railway. The
schoolhouse is now occupied by a non-profit early childhood center named For
the Children.
Macy’s Boynton Beach partnered with the museum to host a Christmas Breakfast with Santa and gift distribution for the preschool students of the historic Osborne School. The breakfast hosted on December 15th.
“It was truly a magical Macy’s day to observe the children’s innocence and enjoyment when receiving their Christmas presents,” says Lori J. Durante, Executive Director of the Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History.
