Held on January 8, 2016, the heritage bus tour hosted 40 people from the Palm Greens community that traveled to Delray Beach for tours of various historic districts that are Banker's Row, West Settlers, Frog Alley and Downtown Delray Beach. The tour made stops at the 1929 historic building for St. Matthew's Episcopal Church; 1929 edifice for St. Paul's Episcopal Church; the 1926 Colony Hotel; and the Boca Artists Guild Gallery. In Boynton Beach, the Narrated Bus Tour visited the 1926 Boynton Woman's Club building and the historic Ocean Avenue and the Avenue of the Arts.

The settlement of Delray Beach and Boynton Beach are intricately linked as Republican Congressman William S. Linton and Major Nathan Boynton arrived in 1894 to the area from Saginaw County, Michigan on Henry Flagler's Florida East Coast Railway.  Their trip was to speculate over inexpensive farm land. Congressman Linton purchased 800 acres that became known as Linton which is now Delray Beach. Major Boynton bought 400 acres in what is now Boynton Beach, Florida.  Linton and Boynton created the Michigan Home Colonization Company for the purpose of recruiting other people in Michigan to come to their areas in Florida to buy farm land and establish their homestead. Pre-dating the arrival of Mr. Linton and Mr. Boynton, Bahamians were already living in the area.
